Our waiter was awesome. The food was fantastic. We ordered a BLT. It's not on the menu, but you can order it. It's delicious. I got the Tomato Basil soup with mine and my husband got the Super Tots and a side salad with his. The soup was delicious also.

All 5 stars across the board! I had the Schnitzel dinner, and coming from a person test was raised in a German household, this was as good as I've ever had it! They have a great selection of local brews and I tried an IPA with my dinner and afterwards polished the night off with a top shelf whiskey and it couldn't have been smoother. I really enjoyed my night here and will always be one of my favorite eateries in anchorage.

The Spenard Roadhouse is a home away from home. With their signature cocktails to their amazing tots, this is a place that is upscale casual for that combo down to earth burger, to fare that any fussy foodie would enjoy. Located in the heart of Spenard you are sure to spot some local dignitaries bellied up to the bar. And the friendly atmosphere you can only find in the heart of the city which is Spenard.

The interior is very cozy and open, which we absolutely loved.
I got their burger: the patty was good, and the lettuce and onions were very fresh and crisp. <3 My mom got their dish with eggs and ham on English muffins, and the ham was absolutely delicious! I tried a bite; it was nice and smoky. I’m not usually a ham person, but I’m definitely getting that next time. My stepmom got their chicken sandwich and she loved it. The chicken was a generous, meaty cut which is definitely appreciated.
They seem to be a very popular spot for lunch/brunch so a little patience is recommended if you want to go during prime hours. About 25 minutes for the food is definitely not bad at all given how incredibly busy they were, but I can see an impatient person getting upset over that.
The prices, about $20 for most entrees is pretty average for a restaurant meal, so I wouldn’t call it expensive, which with the quality of the food is a pleasant surprise!

Absolutely wonderful service! I forgot the name of our server, but she came to every table in her section to ensure they had water. Very kind people and wonderful family friendly atmosphere as always! My sister and me had the Mac & Cheese and delicious Jambalaya bowl!

We loved the atmosphere here. The playlist was good. It got louder when more people came in, but it was the buzz of everyone talking normally, not people hollering to be heard over the din. The staff was very nice.
The drinks were delicious. I got the Rhubarbara Streisand and my wife got the Orange Sunryse with gin instead of whiskey.
My wife got the Reindeer Scramble with tots. She said it was delicious. The eggs were seasoned. It was spicy, but not too spicy. She made a point to note how incredibly fresh all the produce is.
I got the Veggie Benedict with a side of mac n cheese. Usually when they say pesto is an ingredient, you can barely taste it. Not this time!! And the mac n cheese.... omg chef's kiss!!! The sauce was creamy, the crumb on top was flavorful but without being too salty, the noodles were just right. I eat a lot of bennies and a LOT of mac n cheese. This was by far the BEST benny and the BEST mac n cheese I've ever had out.
1000/10 most highly recommend

Family friendly, looks small on the outside, but seems much bigger inside. And there are several places to sit. We went for dinner and were able to sit at the bar without a wait. They had great drink specials and food was out of this world!! SOO DELICIOUS!! By far my favorite restaurant on our trip to AK. The menu had a little bit of everything. I wished we were staying another night to eat here again.

After living in Anchorage for over 10 years, I finally tried Spenard Roadhouse on 27 June. I am kicking myself in the @$$ for not trying it out sooner. The staff were great and the food was amazing. We had calamari and beet carpaccio for appetizers and halibut & fries, shrimp & grits, salmon burger, regular burger, and strawberry shortcake to top off the meal. Everyone loved their food and we all will be visiting again soon.

The service was very good, we waited about 2 minutes to be seated and our food came pretty fast. The halibut was a little dry but everything else was amazing!

Who'd have thought I'd find the hands down, absolute BEST BURGER I've ever eaten, here in Anchorage, AK. Order their Bacon Jam Burger. It was an absolute gem: a great burger actually starts with the bun and this one was top notch, standing up to all of the goodness inside! Burger was top notch but what really separated this from the pack was the thoughtful accoutrements: bacon/fig jam, melted cambozola cheese, fresh arugula and house mayo! The flavor combinations and textures were extraordinary. The roasted beet side dish also fantastic. The beets were roasted to perfection and topped with a pomegranate reduction glaze - SO GOOD!
It gets better!
Our waitress recommended the Banana Cream Pie which was spectacular. Served in a large ramekin, it was unreal.
We shared all of this feedback with the manager on duty and asked for the chef to come out so we could thank him as well.
Service was friendly and professional, ambiance was cozy and relaxed. Very clean and the place was full on a Wednesday night - as you'd expect from a restaurant of this quality. You can tell the owners have their eye on the ball here - it's all in the details. I'd drive out of my way to come back and will also be visiting their sister restaurant, South, this coming Saturday morning! Can't wait to see what their breakfasts are like!
